My apps don't seem to be working or connected to GivePenny

Every now again, despite connecting apps like Strava, Fitbit, Runkeeper, Spotify or Twitch up to GivePenny, things just don't seem to work.

Whether it's Strava running miles not showing up on your challenge page, or your Fitbit steps not coming through, we have some things you can try to get it all up and running!

Start again

Yes - let's turn it all off and turn it all on again!

  • Visit your GivePenny dashboard to disconnect the app, by hitting the app logos that are full colour and then the button that says "Disconnect".
  • Visit the app's website to disconnect GivePenny at their end (it's usually nestled away in the settings under headings like "My Apps" or "Connections")
  • Now you can then re-connect it all (from your GivePenny Dashboard) to see if that kick starts it into action!

Check you aren't logged into a different app profile

It's not unusual for people to inadvertently connect GivePenny to an app using old credentials. Essentially, you might have more than one Strava profile without realising it!

In this instance, the first thing you need to do is disconnect Strava from GivePenny and then disconnect GivePenny from Strava on their website as explained above.

Then log out from Strava on their website and be sure to log back in using the same credentials you are logged in with on your smartphone app.

Then head back to your GivePenny Dashboard to connect Strava to GivePenny.

PENNY TIP: While you're connecting up your apps, leave all of the suggested permissions boxes ticked - GivePenny needs these standard permissions in order to show your progress on your challenge pages and the app blocks on your page won't work properly without them.
